This Outdoor Walking Tour Series Covers Everything From Columbus Secrets To Spooky Spots

Throughout October, you can explore spooky, secret spots by taking an outdoor walking tour of Columbus.

Columbus City Adventures offers walking tours through various parts of the city. All through the month, you’ll be able to join a guide and other tourgoers for the October Walking Tour Series, featuring spooky, secret, and historic outdoor walking tours.

On Friday, October 29, the tour will focus on the Secrets of the Statehouse Square. On this tour, you’ll learn about everything from the city’s first air raid bunker to local secrets about candy. The tour begins at 6:30 p.m. and costs $35.

You can celebrate Halloween by learning all about the History and Haunts of Fort Hayes. On October 23 & 31, you can join Columbus City Adventures to explore the campus of Fort Hayes. The fort served as an arsenal, recruiting, induction, and training center for the military for nearly 150 years. These days, Fort Hayes is owned by Columbus City Schools. The tours begin at 6:30 p.m. and tickets are $35.

The Tales of the Arena District tour will take attendees through the long, sometimes salacious, history of the area, which was formerly home to the Ohio Penitentiary, Union Station, and more. The tours will run on October 21 & 30 and will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $35.

If you’re looking for something a little less spooky and a little more historical, you can always attend the Downtown Walking Tour. This tour focuses on architecture and history in the Capitol area. This tour is recurring on Fridays at 1:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 10 a.m. throughout October.

Although tours are outdoors, Columbus City Adventures suggests that all guests wear masks. For more info about the upcoming walking tours, or to book your tour tickets, you can visit
