Let’s See What You’ve Got Columbus: HighBall Halloween Is Hosting A Virtual Costume Contest

We may not all be able to crowd onto High Street for HighBall, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still go all out on our costumes.

This year, HighBall Halloween will be a virtual affair. Participants can show off their creative costume skills through the Out of the Closet Virtual Public Costume Contest. The contest kicked off on October 1 and will run through October 31. Contestants will have the chance to appear in the HighBall Halloween 2020 Virtual event and five winners will receive a $100 cash prize.

The Columbus community and HighBallers near and far can submit their individual, group, and pet costume creations for a chance to win. Participation is pretty easy. Contestants must purchase entry tickets through the HighBall Halloween 2020 Eventbrite page and submit photos or a video of their creation. HighBall Halloween 2020 White Castle Costume Couture Designers will select three individual or group winners, one pet winner, and one winner will be selected by the public via Instagram and Facebook.

“We’re very excited to bring back the beloved HighBall Halloween Public Costume Contest this year,” said Betsy Pandora, Executive Director of the Short North Alliance. “Each year, we see incredible talent during the Public Costume Contest, with many putting their all into these creations. We knew it was important to continue to provide this creative outlet for our community.”

For the chance to be shown during the HighBall Halloween 2020 Virtual Event, entries must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 16. The final deadline to submit entries for a chance to win is 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 31. Winners will be notified via social media and email the week of Nov. 1.

HighBall Halloween is so much more than a party. It’s a showcase of performances, local and regional fashion and design talent, and it also supports the work of the Short North Alliance. The Short North Alliance is a non-profit organization that focuses on everything from safety programming to public art initiatives in the neighborhood and proceeds from HighBall make lasting impacts on the district throughout the year.
