15 Can’t-Miss Events Around Columbus This March

March is popping off, friends.

There is so much going on around town this month, I wish everyone good luck in making time to check it all out. There are family-friendly events like Sesame Street Live coming to town, and more grown-up soirees like the Columbus Brew Festival.

Bust out those calendars, it’s time to start planning. Here are the best things happening around Columbus this month.

Arnold Sports Festival

What: The 2020 Arnold Sports Festival and the world-renowned Arnold Classic bodybuilding championships, already the world’s largest multi-sport festival, will grow even larger in 2020 when the four-day health and fitness celebration presents a record 80 sports and events March 5-8, 2020. Hundreds of thousands of visitors will be in attendance, as well as 20,000+ athletes competing.

Saintseneca at Otherworld

What: Folk rock band Saintseneca is playing a hometown show here at Otherworld on Friday, March 6 with support from Mery Steel. Tickets are on sale now for the show, which kicks off at 10:30 p.m. and is 18+.

Dan + Shay

What: Solidifying their superstar status with yet another career milestone, GRAMMY-winning duo Dan + Shay have announced dates for their first-ever headlining arena trek, Dan + Shay The (Arena) Tour. The 35+ date tour includes a stop at Columbus’ Nationwide Arena on March 8. They’ll be joined by The Band CAMINO and Ingrid Andress.

Zac Brown Band with Amos Lee, Poo Bear & Sasha Sirota

What: Multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning, Zac Brown Band announced they are extending their highly successful summer 2019 “The Owl Tour” with new dates including a Friday, March 13 stop at Nationwide Arena with special guests Amos Lee, Poo Bear & Sasha Sirota.

Melted 2020 at The Bluestone

What: MELTED is a production of Nelsonville Music Festival and Archie Fox Live, and the music will be going at The Bluestone all night long. Weekend passes are available for this jam-packed festival and you can snag yours here.

Sunrise Hike at Clear Creek Metro Park

What: Take in sunrise views on a rugged 4-mile hike. Be prepared to navigate low-light conditions on unimproved, uneven and steep terrain. The first mile of the hike is a steady up-hill climb. Flashlight, water and hiking boots recommended. Meet at the Fern Parking Lot.

100 Years of Ohio Women’s Activism

What: Visit the museum to learn about the early 1900s campaign to “Let Ohio Women Vote” through a day of programming for all ages. Talk with representatives of the League of Women Voters and other groups, meet and learn from women’s history reenactors, make your own suffrage banner or sash and tour the museum to learn about women’s activism over the years through suffrage-and activism- related artifacts on display.
When: March 14 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Dirty Dancing Beer Tasting

What: Tickets are $35 and include: A custom pint glass, raffle prizes, 10 beer samples from Hoof Hearted, funny stuff and of course a showing of Dirty Dancing. Hosted by Andy Wuelfing, the tasting will begin at 2 p.m. sharp, followed by Dirty Dancing precisely at 4ish. This event is 21 and over.

15th Annual Mammoth Indoor Garage Sale

What: Head out for the 15th Annual Mammoth Indoor Garage Sale to be held at the Fairfield County Fairgrounds, 157 E. Fair Avenue, Lancaster, Ohio in the AAA Building and the Ed Sands/Farm Bureau Building. There will be over 100 vendors. Admission is free and food and refreshements will be available.
When: March 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Band of Horses

What: Band of Horses will be joined by Pomegranate at Express Live later this month. Tickets are $29.50 in advance and $32 day of the show.

Columbus Brew Festival

What: The Columbus Brew Festival will take place at COSI for a one of a kind experience — a night at the museum! The event will feature dozens of local and domestic breweries, sampling their spring seasonal beers. General admission and VIP tickets are available. VIP tickets include an added hour, specialty pours, and more. Tickets will not be sold at the door.
When: March 28 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Sesame Street Live

What: Everyone’s invited to take part in the sunniest and funniest street celebration in Sesame Street Live! Featuring your favorite Sesame Street pals Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Big Bird and more in a brand-new sensory adventure live on stage. Let’s Party!
When: March 29 at 10 a.m., 2 p.m., and 6 p.m.

Free Yoga at the Conservatory

What: Yoga is offered every week at the Conservatory, and you can try it out for free on March 31st. The classes are held on Tuesday nights and led by registered 500-hour yoga instructor, Bonnie Finnerarn. The class is open to all levels of participants. If you like the class, you can come back the next week, when tickets will be $15/class or $75 for the eight week series.
