The Dawes Arboretum Is Hosting Some Spectacular Spring Celebrations Next Month

April is Ohio Native Plant Month, and The Dawes Arboretum has some spectacular celebrations planned.

To kick things off, Dawes Arboretums is hosting a Native Plant Giveaway on April 1 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Guests can collect their native Iris seedlings from the Visitor’s Center while supplies last. The seedlings are included with admission.

Every Sunday in April, Wildflower Walks will take place at 1 p.m. as well as tree plantings throughout the property. Visitors will also have an opportunity to plant a tree themselves at the arboretum from April 22 to April 29. Dawes Arboretum is hoping to plant over 1,500 trees this spring.

Finally, the April festivities will come to an end with the Arbor Day Festival. The fest will feature hands-on activities for kids, mini-talks from plant experts, tree climbing, seedling giveaways, live music, food trucks, and more. The festival will take place on April 30 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
