The Big Give Is A Great Way To Donate To Causes That Matter To You Here In Central Ohio

The Big Give is back, and this year the focus is largely on local nonprofits that have taken big hits due to COVID-19.

The past few months have been an emotional roller coaster for all of us. With unemployment on the rise and the stark reality of injustice laid bare, those with the funds to donate are being called in many directions.

The Columbus Foundation has added new ways of participating in The Big Give, including the option to donate directly to funds for hospitality workers, individuals and families, or nonprofit organizations working on the frontlines of the COVID-19 crisis.

“The Big Give was built on the premise that, by working together, we can achieve much more than we ever could alone. We look forward, especially in these times of greater need than ever, to joining with you and others in a way that will show the world the generous and caring and kind community we are.” Douglas F. Kirder, President & CEO of The Columbus Foundation

The Big Give hosts The Giving Store, a sort of one-stop-shop for donating to over 1,100 nonprofits, 900 of which are located here in Franklin County. A variety of causes are represented, from animal welfare to the environment to social services.

When you donate online through The Big Give, your entire donation goes to the organization you’re choosing to support. This year, the majority of donations have gone to nonprofits that work in social services, but you can see the full breakdown on the leaderboard on The Big Give website.

The Big Give is going now and will run until noon on June 11.
