Starbucks has announced that it will be closing all 379 Teavana locations, including three in Columbus.
The announcement came after Teavana was reported as “consistently underperforming” in quarterly reports. The closure means that 3,300 employees will lose their jobs, although Starbucks stated that that employees would be invited to apply for jobs at Starbucks locations.
Obviously, people are heartbroken.

All three Columbus locations are inside of malls at Easton Town Center, Polaris Fashion Place, and The Mall at Tuttle Crossing. Shopping centers and malls have been on the decline in the US for years, and a majority of Teavana stores are located in malls.
The Central Ohio stores will officially close no later than Spring 2018.
