Sycamore in German Village will reopen later this month under new ownership.
With Good Food Restaurants at the helm, Sycamore, located at 262 E. Sycamore Street, has undergone a transformation. In addition to a big overhaul on the design of the bar and dining room, the restaurant will now also be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The re-imagined Sycamore will draw inspiration from Europe’s all-day cafes with both a dine-in counter-service setting and carry-out. The menu will include espresso and coffee drinks, fresh pastries, light breakfast, salads, sandwiches, small plates, and a full dinner menu.
“We’re so excited to have the opportunity to bring this Columbus landmark back to life,” said Good Food Restaurants Vice President and Sycamore Owner, Tony Heaphy in a press release. “When my sister, Jackie, and I first began talking about Sycamore, we were inspired by the all-day neighborhood cafés and restaurants we’ve loved in other cities we’ve lived in, or those we’ve encountered while traveling. We’re excited to share that vision with this incredible community.”
The dinner menu will be seasonally influenced and feature local and sustainably sourced ingredients. In some shape or fashion, a cafe has been serving the German Village community out of the Sycamore since 1920.
“We’ve created a menu that builds on the recent history of this space, but will feel new and fresh at the same time,” said co-owner and Chef Jackie Heaphy in a press release. “Our goal has always been to showcase the best ingredients and prepare them simply and elegantly. It’s the sort of food and atmosphere we hope people will come back for week after week.”
Sycamore will be open for Café Service from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday-Saturday, and for Dinner Service from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays will feature Café Service only from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. Reservations will be available soon at thesycamoregv.com. The restaurant is expected to open by the end of July.
