Sweet Carrot’s Restaurant Has Closed As The Business Transitions To Catering Only

Sweet Carrot’s brick-and-mortar restaurant in Grandview has officially closed.

Sweet Carrot CEO Angela Petro announced the closure in a social media post on Tuesday. Facing ongoing challenges like staff shortages and burnout, Sweet Carrot will transition to catering only effective immediately.

“A few weeks ago, as I was trying to help the team plug a myriad of holes, I witnessed the anxiety, stress, selflessness and loyalty that the remaining team members were struggling with,” said Petro on Facebook. “I also watched as we failed some of our guests one minute then made people smile the next. It was heartbreaking and in that moment I knew it needed to end for the sake of the team and our supportive community of fans.”

In addition to Sweet Carrot, Petro is also the CEO of Together & Company, a catering service that operates The Fives at The Reach on Goodale and Highline Car House in the Brewery District. Petro went on to explain that as the challenges of the pandemic continue, the business will focus solely on catering for now.

“My team and I have nearly 25 years of experience putting on events, catering life’s most important moments and most importantly bringing people together around food. That wont (sic) change,” wrote Petro. “Sweet Carrot will be focusing on catering and events and will have lots of announcements over the coming months. Stay tuned for our Thanksgiving dinner bundles, holiday entertaining Sweet Carrot style and more.”
