Franklin County Dog Shelter Is Looking For Care Package Donations For Their Deserving Dogs

If there’s one thing I always go a little overboard with, it’s buying stuff for my dogs.

Whether you’ve got some extra unopened pup goods around the house or you just want a great excuse to buy them, you should definitely check out the new care package program that the Franklin County Dog Shelter is running.

On December 12 or 19, you can bring a care package to the shelter for a dog of your choice. The shelter is hopeful that the care packages will drum up interest in some of the shelters’ residents who have been there the longest. Care packages can include treats, toys, peanut butter, or anything else you think the dogs may enjoy!

Packages can be dropped off on December 12 & 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The pandemic has obviously changed all of our lives, and the dogs at the shelter are no exception. Now that the shelter is appointment only, fewer dogs are finding their forever homes and getting the love they deserve.

There are over a hundred dogs currently at the shelter and they could all use a little holiday cheer. If you don’t want to make a care package, but you’d still like to make a general donation of treats, blankets, or towels, you can drop them off in the bins outside of the shelter entrance 24 hours a day.

For more info, you can visit the Franklin County Dog Shelter’s website.
