South Drive-In Opens This Weekend For Their 70th Season

The South Drive-In has become an iconic institution in Columbus, and this weekend, they’re celebrating their 70th Season Opening! One of the few remaining Drive-In Theatres in Central Ohio, generations of moviegoers have loaded up their cars and headed down South High Street to enjoy all kinds of films, from action flicks to fairytales.

This weekend marks the opening of the 2019 season for the South High Drive-In, and the weather is supposed to be warm, if not a little rainy. It’s only open for weekends right now, but starting Friday, films will light up the massive outdoor screens.

Screen 1

Starting at 8:20 p.m., Dumbo (PG) will play, followed up by Captain Marvel (PG13) at 10:22 p.m. There will be an encore of Dumbo at 12:26 on Friday & Saturday.

Also starting at 8:30 p.m., Captain Marvel (PG13) will play, followed by Dubmo (PG) at 10:44 p.m. An encore of Captain Marvel will screen at 12:36 on Friday & Saturday


The gates will open an hour before showtime and you can bring your own refreshments. The Drive-In also allows well-behaved dogs and grills, so if you can fight the cold, bring your furry friend, make a hamburger, and enjoy the show!

The admission price is $9.50 for ages 12 and older on Friday and Saturday nights, $7.50 on Sunday night, $2 for ages 5 to 11 every night, and ages 4 and under are free every night.
