South Drive-In Is Closing Out The Season With Holiday Classics, Including Die Hard

I don’t think there’s ever been a year when I appreciated drive-in movies more than in 2020.

This year, going to the movies at South Drive-In was one of the few “normal” summer activities that we got to take advantage of. The drive-in will close for the season after this weekend, and they’re going out with some genuine holiday fun.

In order to adhere to the statewide curfew, the movies start a little earlier than usual. But honestly, let’s just look at that as a perk of it getting dark at 5 p.m.!

December 11-13, the theater will be showing two holiday screens. on Screen 1, the films will be family-friendly, with The Croods: A New Age at 6:15 p.m. followed by Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch (2018) at 8 p.m.

Over on Screen 2, visitors will be treated to Krampus at 6 p.m. and Die Hard at 7:48. On Friday and Saturday, the gates will open at 5:15 p.m. On Sunday, they’ll open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $9.50 for ages 12+ on Friday and Saturday, $7.50 on Sunday, $2 for ages 5 to 11 every night, and kids 4 and under are free.
