Short & Stout Kitchen Is Now Open In The Brewery District

What do booze, brunch and loaded french fries have in common? You can now get all of them at Short & Stout Kitchen in the Brewery District.

If the name Short & Stout sounds familiar to you, it’s probably because their mobile bar has been cruising around Columbus events for a few years serving up house-made cocktails and mocktails. As someone who has enjoyed quite a few of their quality craft drinks, it was no surprise to hear they were adding food to their venture!

Short & Stout Kitchen has taken up residence in the first floor of Daily Growler on S. High St. You can snag a drink and place a food order without missing a beat. They’ve added an expertly placed ordering window right next to the bar. The space is perfect for enjoying a quick bite or hanging all morning/evening long. With lots of light and tons of patio space it’s got that easy feeling I am usually looking when I go out to eat.

The Kitchen will serve two different menus throughout the day.

Brunch will be served from 9:30 am to 2 pm. When I stopped through I had the Benny’s Huevos and it’s dangerously delicious. If you’re into carnitas, I suggest you get over there ASAP. While you’re there, make sure to snag a Drunken Donut at the counter. It’s one of the only places you can grab one of these boozy treats any given day of the week. Short & Stout will also take over the bar during brunch hours, meaning their amazing craft cocktails are available every. single. day. of the week.

The Daily Growler re-opens at 3 pm, and once 5 pm hits the Nite Bites menu comes out. I want to direct you to two words on this menu: Loaded Fries. Aka a meal in french fry form. Aka a dream come true. You can choose from 4 different topping options and they all look incredible. Nite Bites also include smash burgers and fried chicken – so maybe you want to share those fries?

Short & Stout Kitchen is committed to quality and working with amazing partners, including Roosevelt Coffee Roasters and The Butcher & Grocer locally. They also make their own cocktail mixers and work with local farms when possible. Trust me on this one, you can tell and you definitely want one when you’re there.

Short & Stout Kitchen officially opened their doors on May 30th and is located at 702 S High St in the Daily Growler.

An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated the restaurant was located in German Village. It has been updated.
