Short North Is Taking Steps To Make Parking Less Stressful

If you, like most residents, find yourself complaining about parking in the Short North, listen up.

Some will tell you that there isn’t a parking shortage in the area, however, the Short North Arts District has partnered with area businesses to try to ease the parking fears that might be causing some people to give the area a miss.

From April through October, visitors will now be able to park in featured garages for just $1 for the first hour. The parking discount is only valid from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. during these promo months, but officials are expecting it to be hugely helpful for visitors.

Here’s how it works. If you park in the featured garage, you can have your parking validated by any of the participating businesses. Then when you go to leave, you’ll only pay $1 for the first hour you were parked there.

If you want to skip the commute altogether, you can take a Lyft. If you use the promo code SHORTNORTH18, up to 5,000 Columbus Lyft customers will get $5 off two rides that begin or end in the Short North. You can also show your receipt at to be determined Short North businesses for 10% off of your purchase.

Enjoying the Short North just got a lot less stressful!
