Treat Yo’ Self During Sales Tax-Free Weekend

Get ready to save some big bucks this weekend: It’s the Ohio sales tax holiday.

Everyone loves a good deal. No one love taxes. That’s what makes this weekend so amazing. The State of Ohio will be allowing shoppers to buy certain items without paying sales tax.

How does it work?

Today through Sunday, shoppers can make specific purchases, including clothing items and school supplies, tax-free. The sale applies both in stores and online. Clothing items must cost less than $75 and school supplies must cost less than $20.

Your total purchase has no limit, so as long as your individual items meet the requirements above, it will be tax-free. It doesn’t matter if you’re spending $15 or $500. As long as you are buying exempt items, you’ll get the deal.

All retailers must participate in the tax-free weekend, so you don’t have to worry about shopping somewhere that doesn’t offer the deal.

For more information about the program, please visit the Ohio Department of Taxation’s website.
