Certain Rides Are Back Up And Running At The Ohio State Fair

The SkyGlider, Giant Slide, and other low-impact rides have resumed operation at the Ohio State Fair.

These rides are opening after Wednesday’s terrible accident that left one dead and seven injured. The ride known as “The Fire Ball” broke apart mid-ride. Inspectors have been hard at work ever since to ensure that all the fair rides are safe.

In addition to the SkyGlider and Giant Slide, many rides in the fair’s Meijer Kiddieland have re-opened. It’s expected that a total of 28 rides will be up and running by the end of Friday afternoon.

The ride in question was manufactured by KMG, a company based out of The Netherlands, and they’ve experienced problems with the “Fire Ball” before.
