Anyone who lives here in Columbus knows that the city has seen amazing growth in the last few years. Leading real estate site Realtor.com has listed Columbus’ downtown neighborhood as one of the Top 10 in the country right now.
Realtor cites a 20% increase in home price and a 9% increase in population since 2012 as contributing factors to downtown’s comeback. With recent revitalization projects around town, Columbus will likely continue that growth.
Although the median list price in Downtown Columbus is $272,000, there are plenty of housing opportunities available in a variety of price ranges. Many of the neighborhoods around the city have amazing communities, neighborhood associations, and events to encourage new homeowners to purchase downtown.
One of the most buzzed community developments taking shape downtown is the renovation of The Barrett in German Village. The renovation of the old Barret Middle School is unique in the city, including apartments and detached homes. Although the price is well over the median range, the single family homes have incentives for buyers, like 15-year tax abatements.
