Park Street Saloon, Park Street Patio, And The Social Room Closing This Weekend

Rumor has it that Park Street Saloon is closing up their doors, marking the end of a 7-year run.

(Originally published 11/15/17, Updated 11/27/17: Columbus Underground is now confirming this rumor, with the news that Park Street Saloon, Park Street Patio and The Social Room will host a 3-day going away party Thursday, November 30 through Saturday, December 2 before closing for good.)

According to Reddit, the bar will close this December as plans for a new, 149 room AC Hotel move forward. The hotel was first proposed in 2015 by Continental Reality. If the hotel is, in fact, going forward, Park Street Saloon won’t be the only business in danger.

The new build would also require the demolition of Park Street Patio as well. Back in 2015, property owner Chris Corso spoke to Columbus Underground about the potential development.

“My company, Concept Equity, has acquired all of that block on Park Street over the years, and most of the parcels behind,” Corso told Columbus Underground. “I always had a vision for something special in that part of Columbus. I’m hoping we can make a deal happen.”

AC Hotel is a European-based subsidiary operated by Marriott.

While there hasn’t been an official confirmation from Park Street Saloon about their fate, their website certainly doesn’t seem to debunk the rumors.
