One of the saddest parts of my personal Stay-At-Home experiences thus far has to do with my dogs.
If you don’t have pets, you may not understand, but there’s a certain undeniable joy that comes with coming home to your animals. Whenever I come home from whatever sort of day the outside world has thrown at me, my dogs make me feel like an absolute rock star. I’m talking Beatlemania-levels of hysteria.
They run around. They jump up on me. Their little tails wag so hard that their whole butt shakes. Basically, it’s an adorable highlight of my day. Well, it was an adorable part of my day.
These days, my dogs are entirely unimpressed with my constant presence at home. It’s really proving the old adage, “Absences makes the heart grow fonder.”
Their lack of enthusiasm will fade, but in the meantime, I’ll be watching this video of Sherrod Brown’s dogs on repeat. You see, the Senator has just returned home from Washington D.C. and his dogs are showing just how happy they are to see him safe and sound.
Welcome back to Ohio, Senator Brown!
He’s home! @SenSherrodBrown just arrived by car from Washington. Left his shoes in garage, shed his clothes in laundry room & dropped them in the washer. Showered before reuniting with these maniacs – and me. I left a stack of shirts on sink; he picked #friendofthepod pic.twitter.com/B8X0Ew9RBW
