ODOT Closing Portions Of The Olentangy Bike Trail For At Least 3 Months

As construction continues at I-270 and SR 315, portions of the Olentangy Bike Trail will be closed to the public from August 1 until October 1.

Construction Timeline via ODOT

Due to the construction of ramps and bridges, the Ohio Department of Transportation has decided that parts of the trail will become unsafe for cyclists with construction taking place directly over the trail at some points.

The Olentangy Trail will be closed between Worthington Hills and Olentangy River Parklands at Wilson Bridge Road.

As for an alternate route, ODOT recommends that cyclists take Wilson Bridge Road to
Linworth Road E. to Linworth Road. Cross Hard Road to Sefton Park Drive. Continue to Rutherglen Drive, then to Southview Drive, then take Clubview Boulevard across SR 315 to the Worthington Hills Park trailhead.

The three-month construction schedule estimate is weather permitting, which means it could take longer.

Construction can be frustrating, but would it even be Columbus if it wasn’t constantly being re-done?
