Saturday marks the first home football game for the Ohio State Buckeyes and longtime fans can expect quite a few changes around the Shoe this year.
The parking situation on campus will be more challenging this season. There are approximately 2,000 fewer parking spots for fans to utilize due to construction at Cannon Drive. The construction will not affect the Cannon Dr. exit ramp during football season. The Ohio State University makes these suggestions to fans who had previously parked in the Polo and Dodd surface lots:
- Arrive early
- Avoid the Medical Center area and expect travel delays
- Park in the 9th Ave. Garage or in West Campus lots (near Kenny Road)
- Convenient CABS shuttles run from the west campus lots to the Ohio Stadium area.
- Athletics, Ohio State Police and University Transportation experts are working with local law enforcement partners to help fans find convenient game day parking for the 2017 season.
The stadium will continue it’s 2016 no bag policy. Bags of any size are not permitted in the stadium. Wallets and wristlets are allowed but must be smaller than 5 inches by 8 inches. Fans attending with medical or childcare needs will have to enter through the Steinbrenner Band Center entrance or at the Press Entrance to have items inspected.

The change that is sure to make fans the happiest is the new menu.
According to Eleven Warriors, the menu changes by Levy Restaurants are pretty amazing. One addition will include a new stick and cone based menu. Fans will find everything from delicious, ice cream-like cookie dough with a waffle cone wedge to Italian grinder style bread cones.
New local partners include JP’s Salsa and a great gluten free option, Darista Dips. Other menu items will include a new, fried chicken style picnic box, taco bowls, and an additional BBQ location in the stadium. There will also be fan favorites such as hot dogs, bratwurst, popcorn, pretzels and nachos
