Update: The May 16 screenings are both sold out. Be sure to check back for the June, July, and August screenings at a later date.
There’s one spectacular summer movie series kicking off this weekend that you won’t want to miss.
Ohio History Connection will be hosting a very special drive-in movie once a month in the parking lot of their 800 E 17th Ave. center. The classic drive-in experience is completely free to attend and a snack pack and bottled water will be for sale in case you get hungry during the movie.
In honor of Ohio native Steven Spielberg, the summer series will include some of his most iconic blockbusters. The series kicks off on Saturday, May 16 with a screening of E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. On Saturday, June 13, the center will be showing Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark.
In July, dinosaur fans can enjoy the screening of Jurassic Park. The series will conclude with Ready Player One in August, Spielberg’s most recent film, which is set here in Columbus.
There will be two screenings per film, one at 4:30 p.m and one at 8:30 p.m this weekend. If you don’t want to bring your own snacks, you can order a $9.50 snack pack which includes a big cookie and Buckeye caramel corn (includes peanuts) and bottled water for $1.35.
In order to have a safe drive-in experience, the Ohio History Connection has asked that attendees observe a few guidelines, including remaining in your car at all times and following the guidance of employees while parking and receiving concessions.
This seems like the perfect way to enjoy a safe night out with the whole family. If you’re interested, you can register for your free tickets here.
