Navigator Weekender: The 13 Best Things To Do This Weekend Including MoJoFlo Summer Block Party, German Village Art Crawl, And Jazz & Rib Fest

Summertime weekends in Columbus are some of my favorite nights. In my last few weekends here before I go off to college, I want to experience the best of the best my hometown has to offer. This weekend there’s plenty to do, especially for those of us who love the arts and music.

Cheryl’s Summer 2018 Bake Sale

What: Cheryl’s Cookies is having a huge sale at their Westerville Flagship Store. Their prepackaged cookies will be up to 75% off. Part of the proceeds will go directly to Nationwide Children’s Hospital. If you’re a cookie lover, this is the perfect event to stock up.
When:July 19, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and July 20, at 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Noir She Didn’t

What: Oh Noir She Didn’t! This is a 1920s inpsired mystery dinner show. Tickets are only $40 for this immersive sluth experience.

MoJoFlo Summer Block Party

What: MoJoFlo has become quite the staple of local music in Columbus and this weekend will be no different. As part of the Gateway’s summer music series, MoJoFlo will be performing a free show! There will also be food and drink trucks to make your evening just that much better.
When: July 20, 8 p.m.

Tchaikovsky Spectacular

What: Columbus Symphony’s Russian Winter Festival is combining with their Picnic With The Pops series to create a summer extravaganza of Tchaikovsky. Head down to the commons to hear selections from classics like Swan Lake and Romeo and Juliet. Tickets start at $10.

German Village Art Crawl

What: The German Village Art Crawl is back for another awesome year. Take a stroll through the alleys of German Village to see amazing art by local artists and music from your favorite local bands. Tickets are $25.

Columbus Crew SC vs. Orlando City SC

What: Cheer on your beloved Columbus Crew as they take on the Orlando City SC this Saturday. Tickets start at $28.

The Columbus Color Run 5K

What: The Color Run 5K is back this weekend! The Color Run calls itself “the happiest 5k” as runners are covered in colored paint powder throughout the entire race. The Tickets are $30 here if you haven’t yet registered.
When: July 21, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Picnic With The Pops: Brian McKnight

What: Columbus Symphony’s summer Picnic With The Pops series continues this weekend with Brian McKnight. He plays eight different instruments and uses all his skills to create an all encompassing performance. Tickets start at $10.

The Ashville Food Truck and Community Festival

What: The Ashville Food Truck and Community Festival features live music, arts & crafts, delicious food. This event is good for all ages so bring the family and enjoy a day of good eats and good music.

Healthy Living Festival

What: The first ever Healthy Living Festival is here in Columbus to celebrate and encourage healthy lifestyles. Come to enjoy local eats, free fitness sessions, farm tours, and local artists and brands. General admission tickets are $15.
When: July 22, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Jorgensen Farms Historic Barn

Open House at Chadwick Arboretum North

What: This annual open house will feature a variety of ways to explore nature in an educational yet exciting way. Check out their fishing and canoeing and enjoy some free refreshments. There will be a variety of tours to explore the Monarch Way Station, Arb North Site, EnCORE Solar House and more.
When: July 22, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Jazz & Rib Fest

What: The annual Jazz & Rib Fest is this weekend! Come enjoy your favorite jazz musicians such as The JuJu Exchange, Ramsey Lewis, Honey and Blue, and MoJoFlo. There are also over 20 different rib vendors to help you really get your fill of flavor.
When: July 20-22
Where: Bicentennial Park and Genoa Park

Columbus Clippers vs. Scranton Wilkes-Barre RailRiders

What: The Columbus Clippers go up against the Scranton Wilkes-Barre RailRiders this weekend at Huntington Park. Tickets start at $7.
