Nationwide Children’s Hospital Ranked As A Top 10 Children’s Hospital In The US

Nationwide Children’s Hospital has been named the 7th best children’s hospital in the country by U.S. News.

The list features the top 50 centers in 10 pediatric specialties: cancer, cardiology and heart surgery, diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology and gastrointestinal surgery, neonatology, nephrology, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics, pulmonology, and urology.

Nationwide Children’s Hospital ranked in the Top 5 for Pediatric Cancer.

“Having a child who is born with or develops a serious illness is one of the most difficult situations a parent can face,” said Ben Harder, Chief of Health Analysis at U.S. News. “Our Best Children’s Hospitals rankings are designed with parents and young patients in mind. By having access to the most comprehensive data available to supplement guidance from their pediatrician, families are able to make better-informed decisions about where to seek high-quality care for their children.”

U.S. News methodology factors objective measures such as patient outcomes, including mortality and infection rates, as well as available clinical resources and compliance with best practices to determine rankings.

Nationwide Children’s ranked in the top 10, which means they made the “Honor Roll,” a distinction awarded to pediatric centers that deliver exceptionally high-quality care across multiple specialties.

On receiving the honor, the hospital shared what it means to be recognized for their hard work.

“We work every day to provide the best possible care at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, and our most important seal of approval is the trust of the families we serve. Still, it’s nice that our care gets noticed by an outside source – a validation that others recognize our commitment to delivering the best outcomes for children,” reads a post on the hospital’s website.

But accolades aren’t what’s most important to the hospital. They also want to encourage parents to “look beyond just rankings, to speak with the care providers who know their child best and to consider multiple options.”

“We’re proud of the rankings, and they are deserved recognition for our physicians and employees,” they said in the post. “But we remain driven to do more, to be better, and to earn the trust of the people we care for.”
