Nationwide Arena And Columbus Blue Jackets Announce New Bag Restrictions For Guests

The Columbus Blue Jackets are announcing new bag restriction for Nationwide Arena that will go into effect on Sunday, April 2nd.

“The move to small-bag or no-bag policies at sports venues is increasingly common and we feel that our guests will recognize the benefits of improved security screening and expedited entry,” said Blue Jackets Vice President of Communications & Team Services Todd Sharrock in a press release.

Now, any bags coming into the arena must be no bigger than 5″x8″x1″. Oversized bags are allowed for guests with children or medical conditions, but those bags will be subject to being searched upon entry to the arena.

“We’re introducing the new standards during our last couple regular-season games to allow fans to get used to the policy and prepare for the Stanley Cup playoff games ahead,” explained Sharrock. The Blue Jackets play tonight against the Buffalo Sabres and Sunday against the Washington Capitals.
