Nancy’s Home Cooking Is Leaving Clintonville

A Clintonville classic will be closing their doors and moving to a new location next month.

In an emotional video on Facebook, Nancy’s Home Cooking owner Rick Hahn announced that the restaurant would be leaving their 3133 N. High Street location on March 8th. “We have ran our course at 3133 N High Street and we have come to the end of the road,” said Hahn in his video. “We are going to leave that location and move to a new location.”

Hahn cited a few issues with the current building the restaurant is located in, including the fact that the building is older and they are unable to make the changes they need to keep the restaurant moving forward.

After an exhaustive search within Clintonville for a new location within their budget, Hahn eventually had to look elsewhere. He took over the business after his wife, Sheila, passed away in 2012 and the Clintonville community is something that will always remain important to him.

“It’s been really tough to process this because I’m really emotionally attached to Clintonville and everyone that comes in,” he explained.

So where are they headed? Nancy’s Home Cooking will take over the space at 52 E. Lynn Street, formerly Jack’s Diner.

“I know it’s short notice, but I held off as long as I could,” he explained. “We will not be open on weekends downtown, only Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.”

Hahn went on to express his hope that Nancy’s loyal customer base will continue to support the restaurant, even after they move downtown.

“I’ve never felt so close to a community in my entire life,” he said. “But it’s a new page we have to turn to. I want to keep Nancy’s going. I still need your help, I need you to support us whether you’re physically there as a customer or online or through all of our efforts to help people,” he said.

Nancy’s will close their doors in Clintonville on Sunday, March 8th and hopefully re-open at their new location on March 31st or April 1st. For more updates from Nancy’s Home Cooking, you can follow them on Facebook.
