The 27-Story Millennial Tower Is Officially A Go

Columbus’ ever-changing skyline will officially be gaining a new skyscraper.

Millennial Tower, a 27-story mixed-use building received approval from the Downtown Commission earlier this morning. The $150 million tower, proposed by Arshot Investment, will have two floors of retail space, 155,000 square feet of office space and 179 condos and apartments.

The building will also include a 130 room hotel and over 600 parking spaces.

When Millennial Tower was first proposed, it looked like this:

The design included a massive, six-story wraparound LED screen. Neighbors and downtown residents were not amused. It seems that the developers have heard those complaints because the new renderings for Millennial Tower have calmed down considerably.

The LED board has been dramatically reduced in size, and now only faces Front St. Although some people were pleased with the changes, others were still upset about another issue: The name of the building.

Don’t sweat it though, Columbus. You can’t win em’ all, right?
