Military Families Get In Free July 1-7 At The Columbus Zoo

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is letting military families into the zoo for free.

The Military Family Free Dayz will take place from July 1 through 7. All it takes to get in is a military ID—or other proof of service—active-duty service members, non-active-duty service members, and veterans can get their immedate families into the zoo.

Military families can also enjoy a fun day at Zoombezi Bay during the Military Family Free Dayz. Admission to the waterpark isn’t free, but each family member will get in at a discounted $22.99 per person. You can only get this special offer at the entrance of the zoo.

Parking is $10 per vehicle.

But if you want to avoid the hassle of the zoo parking lot and paying to park, take The Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) Zoo Bus. Zoo Bus fares are only $2 each way.

If you’re bringing the whole family to the zoo—I’m talking cousins, aunts, and uncles—the Zoo Bus can help them get into the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium for cheap, too. They won’t qualify for the Military Family Free Dayz offer since they’re not immedate family. But COTA’s Zoo Bus riders that ask for a transfer coupon will receive Columbus Zoo admission for $3 and Zoombezi Bay admission for $10 per person.

Zoo Bus riders just have to present the transfer coupon at the zoo’s admission windows to get the discount.

Zoo Bus riders can board at the Statehouse Downtown.

To all the military service men and women, thank you for your service.
