This weekend, you’re invited to celebrate the great outdoors.
Scioto Fest, hosted by Metro Parks, Friends of Metro Parks, and Land-Grant Brewing Company, is headed back to Scioto Audubon Metro Park. The festival is a casual atmosphere, focusing on fun outdoor activities like rock climbing, kayaking, and camping.
Land-Grant and Zen Bee Meadery will be onsite selling beer and mead. Vendors and food trucks will also be available. In addition to the focus on outdoor living, there will also be activities for families, live music by the Mighty Troubadours and Hebdo, and OSU vs. Tulsa on the big screen.
The best part about Scioto Fest is the overnight camping. If you’re interested in staying the night at the park, you’ll need to register for a camping space in advance. Campers will need to bring all of their own gear, including tents, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, etc. No car camping will be permitted. Walk-ins will be accepted if there are still camping spots available, but registering early will guarantee you a spot!
There won’t be any fires available for cooking, so if you don’t plan on eating at the Food Trucks, you’ll need to bring a single camping stove to prepare your food. All campsites must be packed up and cleared out of the camping area by 9 a.m. on Sunday, September 19. Camping is free.
The festival kicks off on Friday, September 17 at 4 p.m. The festival will be open until midnight on Friday. On Saturday, festivities will begin at noon and continue late into the evening. If you’re camping, you can start your morning by cleaning up your campsite on Sunday, followed by a river clean-up from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Scioto Audubon Metro Park is located at 400 W Whittier St, Columbus, OH 43215. For more information, you can visit the Metro Parks website.
