After an incredible 38-day winning streak, Matt Amodio’s time on Jeopardy has finally come to an end.
Amodio has won 38 straight games earning himself $1,518,601 in prizes over the course of the show. Originally from the Cleveland area, Matt Amodio graduated from the Ohio State University and then went on to pursue his Ph.D. at Yale in Connecticut.
Amodio lost during Monday night’s episode when he failed to answer the Final Jeopardy! clue correctly. Ultimately, he came in third on Monday’s show and his winning streak was ended by champion Jonathan Fisher.

Only two other players in the history of Jeopardy have won more than Amodio: Ken Jennings and Jam Holzhauer who both won over $2 million. In his post-game interview, Amodio reflected on the experience and how much it meant to him.
“I just took it one step at a time and I was able to appreciate each one. I didn’t take anything for granted… Every single win was just like the first. I got such happiness out of it.”
