A very Instagrammable event is waiting for you at Lynd’s latest farm.
S’miles of Sunflowers, a festival celebrating the most joyous of flowers, aka the sunflower, will be taking place August 16-18 and August 23-25 at The Patch on 37 (3131 Johnstown-Alexandria Rd. NW, Alexandria, OH) the newest farm from Lynd’s Fruit Farm.
The field is 10-acres and features 10 different kinds of sunflowers. Your ticket to the festival a wagon ride throughout the Patch, a ride on the Barrel Train (for kiddos), three Cut Your Own Sunflowers of your choice, and tons of incredible photo-ops.
Tickets are $20 at the gate for visitors 4 and up. If a discount is on your mind, don’t worry. You can get $15 online as long as you purchase them one day in advance.
The festival will host a couple of special days, including Extraordinary Day on Thursday, August 15 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Extraordinary Day is a day set aside for families with special needs kiddos. The crowds will be significantly lighters and there will be a puppet show, wagon rides, backyard games, and more. Tickets are $15 at the gate and one caretaker gets free entry to assist a guest.
Additionally, the Patch will host a dog-friendly day on August 18th. Visitors can bring their well-behaved pooches to the farm. There will also be Yoga for $10 on both August 17 and 24, at 9:30 a.m. The classes will take place amid the flowers in the 10-acre sunflower field. Dandy’s Shrubs & Switchels will be providing healthy, non-alcoholic beverages after the yoga session.
If you’re hoping to bring a professional photographer with you to take some epic family photos, you totally can. But there are some rules you need to follow. Professional photography sessions will take place from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. August 19-22. This time has been set aside for photographers to book their clients without the hustle and bustle of the festival.
Only photogs and their clients will be permitted on the grounds. It will cost the photographer $100/hour or $300/evening. Photographers can reach out to Bev at 740-564-4406 to book sessions.
I hate to be super predictable, but I’m freaking jazzed about this festival. Not only does it last for two weekends, ensuring I get premium sunflower blooms, but it’s also going to be freaking beautiful to photograph.
