When it comes to selling me on an order of Girl Scout cookies, I have to admit that I don’t take much convincing.
Not only do I feel a duty to support current Girl Scouts the way I was supported, but the cookies are also the highlight of my year. They’re delicious and nostalgic and they’re for a good cause, so like I said before, it doesn’t take much to sell me on them.
But that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate a creative sales pitch when I see one.
Nine-year-old Amory, a local Girl Scout from Westerville just raised the bar when it comes to selling cookies. Amory decided to make a music video, set to the tune of Lizzo’s Truth Hurts, complete with quippy cookie puns and silly outfits.
“We can’t express our gratitude enough! somehow Amory’s video has accumulated 2,170 views since we posted it Saturday,” said Amory’s dad, Zak, on Facebook.
Her parents have every reason to be proud. Her video is creative and adorable and I wish I had that level of creativity in elementary school. The Girl Scouts have a much stronger online presence than when I was a kid. On Amory’s selling page, she shared her Cookie Story, which is only going to make you want to buy her cookies even more.
“Cookie sales help our troop pay for outings and helping the community,” wrote Amory. “We did 3 service projects last year. I would love to sell 2,020 boxes so I can get a free week of camp, but any sales help us. Selling cookies I learn money skills and friendship.”
If you feel inspired by Amory’s video and story and want to order some cookies for yourself, you can do so online right here.
