OSU Gateway Is Getting A Throwback Dive Bar, Leo’s On The Alley

Cold beer in a can. Music from a jukebox. And prices that won’t break the bank. That’s what Leo’s On The Alley, the newest bar on campus is promising.

Oldfield’s North Fourth Tavern owner Dan Starek decided to open Leo’s to bring back a neighborhood style bar to OSU.

“Just a small place to get more than a few drinks and relax with your friends,” Starek told The Lantern. “If you want glimmer and glitz, we’re probably not going to be the place for you.”

The bar will serve canned beers, mostly from Ohio breweries, but Starek promised some budget-friendly beer options as well.

Leo’s plans to host events at the bar, but none so important as game day celebrations for The Ohio State Buckeyes. The bar will boast 15 televisions, encouraging students to cheer for scarlet and gray.

Leo’s On The Alley opens at the end of August, before the first Ohio State football game on August 31.

Wondering why the bar is named Leo’s on the Alley? Aren’t we all.

According to The Lantern, Starek says that whoever can figure out “Leo’s” identity will drink for free the rest of their college career.
