Land-Grant Brewing has become a staple in Franklinton life.
Located at 424 W. Town St., it’s a great place to meet up with friends, grab a beer, or snack on some delicious food. But they’re hoping to make it even better. The brewery has plans to transform the vacant lot next door into a beer garden.
The plan, which the brewery will present to the East Franklinton Review Board, includes seating for up to 100 guests as well as a stage area for outdoor entertainment.
“We’ve used that lot for some special events and it’s been great,” Adam Benner, president and co-owner, told Columbus Business First. “As we’ve looked at the development of the neighborhood, we thought we could do something new and interesting with that lot, put that vacant space to a more permanent use.”
The parking lot between the lot and the brewery would be gated, making it easy and safe for customers to walk between the two locations. Once Land-Grant receives approval from the East Franklinton Review Board, the City of Columbus, and The Ohio Division of Liquor Control, they can begin building. The timeline for this project is ambitious, and if all goes according to plan, the beer garden would be open by Memorial Day.
