Looking for a romantic fall adventure? We’ve got just the thing.

Dotted throughout Fairfield County, couples will find the romantic “Kissing Bridges.” The county is home to 17 covered bridges, some of which date back to 1849. The bridges are charming any time of year, but they’re downright adorable when accompanied with peak fall foliage.

According to local folklore, the bridges were covered so couples could go in and kiss without being seen by prying eyes. Their true purpose was function, not romance, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t a good place to sneak a quick kiss.
