Take A Look Inside Jonys Sushi In German Village

There’s a new sushi joint in town, friends. Jonys Sushi had a soft opening this weekend, so naturally, we couldn’t stay away.

The new restaurant is takeaway only, but there is a small seating area where you can watch some anime while you wait for your food. You can order at the counter or call ahead. Jonys will also be partnering with Uber Eats to deliver sushi right to your front door.

The decor inside the restaurant is bright, colorful, and elegant. Comic book style artwork, created for Jonys by local artist Paul Giovis adorns the wall and adds vibrancy to the space.

Eventually, Jonys hopes to offer dining as well as the ability for patrons to move back and forth between Jonys and their sister restaurant next door, South Village Grille, but they’re waiting on some zoning changes from the city.

The menu has a variety of classic sushi rolls, including a California roll, a spicy crab stick roll, and a spicy tuna roll. They’ve also got some unique specialty rolls that touch on pop culture, like the Mr. Miyagi roll, the Nina West roll, and the Mother of Dragons roll.

One thing to note is that Jonys is a cash-free restaurant, so don’t forget to bring a card. There’s nothing worse than thinking you’re about to slam some delicious sushi only to be thwarted by a tiny piece of plastic.

Jonys Sushi is located at 195 Thurman Ave in German Village. For more info, you can follow them on Instagram. To take a closer look at the restaurant, keep scrolling!
