John Glenn International Airport Unveils Private Nursing Rooms

Last week on April 19, the John Glenn International Airport held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of their new private rooms for nursing mothers. Four nursing rooms have been added to the airport with one in each concourse and one in baggage claim. A private nursing room can also be found in the Rickenbacker Charter Terminal. The John Glenn International Airport hopes to provide mothers a quiet, relaxed place to tend to their children.

“We understand that traveling with children can be fun and exciting, but it also presents unique challenges for parents and we want to make the experience as positive as it can be,” said Elaine Roberts, President & CEO of the Columbus Regional Airport Authority. “We hope the addition of these comfortable spaces for nursing mothers and their children will make their journey through our airports even easier and more pleasant.”

The private nursing rooms are just one of the John Glenn International Airport’s efforts to enhance the customer experience. Traveling can be stressful enough as it is, and Columbus’s airport is doing what it can to make the process easier. Other new and family-friendly services include free children’s activity books and crayons, family restrooms, the availability of skycap services, and individualized pre-travel tours for families with autistic children.
