Hot Homes: 7 Houses For Sale In Merion Village Right Now

I may be biased because I live here, but Merion Village is one of my favorite neighborhoods in Columbus.

Located just south of German Village between High Street and Parsons Avenue, Merion Village is a diverse historic neighborhood. First settled in 1809 by Nathaniel Merion, the neighborhood was home to working-class families and industrial plants of all kinds.

Most of the homes in Merion Village were built near the turn of the century and they’re full of charming character. While the original inhabitants of Merion Village frequently commuted south, towards Steelton, the short commute north to Downtown Columbus businesses is a huge draw for residents.

The homes in the area cover a broad price range and vary greatly in square footage. Let’s get in and take a closer look at some of the hottest homes for sale right now in Merion Village.

415 Southwood Ave.

Realtor: Presented by: John Houk | Brokered by: SORRELL & COMPANY, INC.
Specs: 3 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, 1,905 square feet
Listing Price: $299,900
What we love: Old world charm meets modern upgrades in this adorable Merion Village cottage. The original stone exterior is so homey and inviting and the home is completely move-in ready. One of my favorite features in the property is the quaint breakfast nook off the kitchen. I could definitely enjoy a cup of coffee there in the morning.

333 E Gates St. Unit Rear

Realtor: Presented by Nathan White with Nexthome Experience
Specs: 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, 1,306 square feet
Listing Price: $214,900
What we love: I have it on good authority that E. Gates Street has the coolest neighbors, so you’ll be surrounded by awesome people at this home. The property was constructed way back in 1890, but don’t let that scare you. It’s been brought well into the 21st century and it’s basically a blank slate. Let’s see if all of that HGTV has finally paid off!

1091 S Washington Ave.

Realtor: Presented by: Julie Judge with Keller Williams Capital Partners
Specs: 2 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, 1,293 square feet
Listing Price: $359,900
What we love: This home is equal parts charming and cozy. The property features an open floor plan, an upgraded kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops, and a master bathroom that’s totally gorgeous. Who’s ready to relax in that clawfoot bathtub with a glass of wine? I know I am.

147 E Jenkins Ave.

Realtor: Presented by: Justin Taber with RE/MAX Associates Realty
Specs: 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, 1,128 square feet
Listing Price: $250,000
What we love: Do you ever come across a property and think, “this place has good vibes”? Because I get great vibes from this property. The home has all sorts of little details you’ll love, like the hardwood floors throughout or the unique concrete countertops in the kitchen.

405 Sheldon Ave.

Realtor: Presented by: Kelly Coate with RE/MAX PREMIER CHOICE
Specs: 2 bedrooms, 2.5+ bathrooms, 1,312 square feet
Listing Price: $319,900
What we love: This home has been completely rehabbed and it’s beautiful. The open concept first floor makes the home feel so large. There are two master suites at this house, each with their own private full bathroom. I especially love the additional space in one of the master suites where you could add a nice sitting area or office space.

420 Reinhard Ave.

Realtor: Presented by: Patty Lamb | Brokered by: Coldwell Banker King Thompson
Specs: 2 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom, 1,542 square feet
Listing Price: $449,500
What we love: There’s a lot to love about this spacious, updated home. But honestly, nothing really compares to the gigantic, jetted tub. I just feel like after 2020, we all deserve nice, long, hot baths where we get to relax and unwind. And you could certainly do both in that tub.

47 Hanford St.

Realtor: Presented by: Elizabeth Greulich with Core Ohio, Inc.
Specs: 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, 1,598 square feet
Listing Price: $455,000
What we love: When I picture Merion Village homes, this house is usually what comes to mind. It’s a brick beauty that has been completely updated throughout. The interior is absolutely lovely, but the outdoor space is really what sends me over the moon. The yard is massive by Merion Village standards and there is plenty of space to build an outdoor entertaining area.
