Hot Chicken Takeover And Kaleidoscope Partnering To Benefit The LGBTQ Youth Of Central Ohio

Hot Chicken Takeover (HCT) is partnering with the Kaleidoscope Youth Center (KYC) by donating money from limited edition T-shirt sales to KYC’s new Cycle Club program.

Kaleidoscope Youth Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the safety and empowerment of the LGBTQ youth of Central Ohio. The KYC Cycle Club program is a new initiative that will provide participants with a new bicycle. They can even get lessons on how to ride it if they need them.

“We’ve been trying to find a way to get the KYC Cycle Club up and running,” notes Eldridge, “and the donation from the Pride shirts will definitely help us do just that.”

The limited edition 2017 Pride HCT shirts will be sold for $29 a pop and $5 from each shirt will go straight to KYC Cycle Club. You can find them in both adult and youth sizes at the HCT North Market location and later this month at the Clintonville location when they open up shop.

“Hot Chicken Takeover’s commitment to inclusiveness and community goes beyond their restaurant,” shares Kaleidoscope Youth Center Director, Amy Eldridge, “and this partnership is a prime example.”

HCT is a Fair Chance Employer, which means the restaurant doesn’t hold a potential employee’s past against them. The idea of being inclusive runs deep through the company’s veins.

“Every year we’ve created an exclusive Hot Chicken Takeover shirt for Pride and donated money to the KYC,” shares Hot Chicken Takeover Founder Joe DeLoss, “but we felt like formalizing our commitment to the center will allow them to plan for future projects more adequately.”

The Nashville-style chicken maker is on a roll. When the community asked HTC to make a spicier option, they delivered. They upped the ante on their “Holy” flavor rather than adding an additional flavor.

I don’t know if I will be trying it anytime soon. I hate to admit that even their “Warm” flavor makes my eyes water. But I won’t say never.
