Recreate Your Favorite Works Of Art During The Homemade Masterpiece Challenge

Can’t go to the museum to check out the world’s greatest pieces of art? No problem.

Since we could all use a little happiness right now, and we’ve got plenty of time to get creative, now is the perfect opportunity to participate in the Homemade Masterpiece Challenge. The Columbus Museum of Art is challenging everyone to recreate famous art from museums using things you have at home.

Your photos can be as simple or complex as you want them to be. Here are some loose guidelines for recreating your art masterpiece:

If you need a little inspiration, look no further than the Columbus Museum of Art’s online collection. There you can find everything from Impressionist masterworks to modern Art masterpieces.

You can also check out some of the creative ideas from people who responded to the Getty’s art challenge, which inspired this whole movement in the first place.

In addition to Columbus Museum of Art’s online art collection, you can view collections of online art from museums such as The Met, Art Institute of Chicago, Cleveland Museum of Art, and Detroit Institute of Art.

People have already started taking some pretty awesome photos.

I can’t wait to see what the rest of you come up with. Get out there and start creating, Columbus!
