The Hidden Drive-In Should Totally Be Your Next Date Night In Columbus

Necessity is the mother of invention, or so I’ve been told.

Due to COVID-19, we’re being forced to re-think the way we gather together for experiences. Across the city, people are coming up with safe and creative ways to get out and have some fun this summer, and The Hidden Drive-In is the one that I’m the most excited for.

Tucked away in bespoke alleys and private parkades,” the event details read, “The Hidden Drive-In showcases live music, films, and dinner delivered to your car window.” They had me at bespoke, but seriously, this event is going to be so cool.

The latest Hidden Drive-In will take place on Saturday, July 18, and will include a live performance by Kenzie Coyne and Hello Luna, dinner, and movie.

The live music will take the stage from 7-9 pm and you’ll be able to listen to the concert from your phone, car radio, headphones, or socially distanced outdoor seats.

The dinner menu will include a barbecue dinner delivered right to your car window. After the live performance is over, the audience will be able to vote on a list of movies to determine what will be shown on the 30-foot screen.

The Hidden Drive-In has a simple mission. They say it pretty well, so I’ll let them do the talking.

As artists are facing major challenges, music lovers are staying behind closed doors, and film lovers are watching alone, drive-in concerts support artists, and our emotional and mental wellness. We are apart, but together.

Tickets for The Hidden Drive-In can be purchased through Eventbrite. Space is limited.
