Transportation

via car2go

Getting downtown is one thing, but finding parking is a whole other story. Skip the parking debacle and take car2go. You’ll be able to find a convienent Drop Zone located on Main Street between Ludlow and Front Streets.

Taking the COTA bus is always a good option. Click here to download the Transit App and use it to stay up to date on arrival and departure times on your route.

Finally, catch a ride with FreeRide Columbus or Hopper Cart. These little carts zoom all around downtown and the Short North. It’s free to ride, but you should always tip your driver.

I get it, sometimes it’s nice to drive your own car. Here’s where you can park near the Scioto Mile.

The Festival

via Jazz & Rib Fest

The Jazz & Rib Fest is a festival dedicated to smokey flavors and soulful music. If you’re not walking around with barbeque sauce from ear-to-ear by the end of the night, you’re doing it wrong.

Like any citywide festival, the Jazz & Rib Fest is a wonderful place to people watch. But this fest is one that’s all about the tastes and the sounds, rather than the sights and the smells. But that doesn’t mean that there won’t be plenty of those, too. Who doesn’t love the smell of barbecue?

The festival hours are:

  • Friday, July 21: 11 a.m.–11 p.m.
  • Saturday, July 22: 11 a.m.–11 p.m.
  • Sunday, July 23: 11 a.m.–8:30 p.m.
  • Entertainment

The Jazz & Rib Fest is literally all about the sweet sounds of brass instruments. Born out of swing and blues, jazz is quite possibly the most soulful music out there. The Jazz & Rib Fest will offer three whole days of fantastic musicians from all over the town, country, and globe. There are three different stages: the American Electric Power Stage, the Genoa Park Stage, and the West Bank Stage. Each one promises a good show–the lineup looks great!

Swing by each team’s setup to enter to win prizes, play games, take pictures, and more. COSI will offer festival goers live shows and cool activities right by the Genoa Park Stage.

Last but not least, HERO USA will be taking people out for half hour-long canoe rides on the Scioto River. It’s $15 per person, but children under 12 can float for free when with a paying grown up.
