The Guernsey County Courthouse Is Totally Winning At Christmas

When it comes to holiday light shows, no one does it quite like Guernsey County.

Every year, the county courthouse is decorated with thousands of lights that are perfectly synchronized to holiday music. The computer-controlled display lasts for one hour and runs continuously throughout the night.

The holiday spectacle, designed by AVC Communications, brings out thousands of visitors each year. Established in 2008, it’s become a holiday tradition for many families around Ohio.

The show runs every day until January 1. The lights begin at 5:30 p.m. each night and go until 9 p.m. on weekdays and 11 p.m. on weekends. The 2020 show features a children’s set with holiday favorites like Frosty the Snowman including one song sung by Cambridge area 5th graders, contemporary recordings featuring local saxophonist Gordon Hough, and other popular Christmas music.

Visitors can watch the light show from their car and can tune in to hear the accompanying soundtrack to 102.7 FM.

The Guernsey County Courthouse is located at 801 Wheeling Ave, Cambridge, OH 43725, about an hour and a half east of Columbus. It’s road trip time my friends.
