German Village May Be Getting A Boutique Hotel

The boutique hotel craze has finally reached German Village.

According to a report by Columbus Business First, a five-story, 129-room hotel is being proposed for the corner of E. Livingston Ave. and S. Pearl Alley.

The L-shaped building isn’t set in stone just yet. Before any plans can move forward, the German Village Commission would need to approve the project, a hurdle that has brought even the best-laid plans to a screeching halt.

The plans submitted to the commission are for a 58,750 square foot structure, which would see the current stucco building at 33 E. Livingston demolished to make room for the hotel.

The German Village Commission was established in 1960. The next meeting is scheduled for April 3, 2018. The Commission “considers applications and issues Certificates of Appropriateness for exterior alterations at properties located within the German Village Historic District boundaries.”
