Calling All Moms: Head To The Zoo For Free Admission On Mother’s Day

If you’re looking for the perfect way to celebrate the mothers and grandmothers in your life, look no further.

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is offering free admission to all moms and grandmas who are joined by their children and grandchildren on Sunday, May 13. The zoo is a great place to spend Mother’s Day, checking out new moms and baby animals throughout the park.

Recent births at the zoo include the hatching of three Humboldt penguin chicks and the arrival of five Asian small-clawed otter pups and a baby silver-leafed langur.

The seasonal attractions at the zoo will also be open, which means you can take your mom to feed giraffes, hop on a ride at Jungle Jack’s Landing, take a camel ride, or walk through the Kangaroo enclosure. There are also two new stage shows at the park, including Wild Africa and Surfin’ Safari. The Wild Africa show is currently taking place on weekends only at 12:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 4:30 p.m., with daily shows beginning on May 26.

Guests can enjoy Surfin’ Safari previews on weekends only at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., with the full show running at 12 p.m., 2 p.m., and 4 p.m. daily starting on May 26. A 6 p.m. show will also be offered weekends only from May 26-Sept. 3.

Although admission is free for moms and grandmas, additional fees may apply for special areas of the park.
