Franklinton Mixed Use Project Gets A Date For Groundbreaking
Changes for the Franklinton neighborhood are coming up fast, April 3 to be exact. CASTO, a national real estate company is pairing with the Robert Weiler Company, Kelley Companies, Smoot Construction and Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority. The project, entitled River & Rich, will be a mixed-use property, bringing both housing and retail to the Columbus neighborhood.
“We’re excited to break ground on River & Rich, and to contribute to the vibrant community and growth of East Franklinton,” said Brent Sobczak, CASTOs Director of Multifamily Family Development and Finance.
Franklinton is home to some of the coolest things happening in Columbus right now. The area had been largely ignored by the city for years, due to it’s flood-prone, river front location, but revitalization projects all around the city have finally made their way across the Scioto.
According to a press release from CASTO, when River & Rich is completed it will include “230 one and two-bedroom garden and townhouse style apartments, 25,000 square feet of retail space and a two-story 292-space parking garage.” The massive project will still have local ties as CASTO and other participants will be looking for local artists and the Franklinton community to contribute to murals and public art installations!
