Franklin County Dog Shelter Is Offering Shelter Dog Speed Dating Next Weekend

Looking for love in paw the wrong places?

See what I did there? Sometimes the greatest source of love you can ever experience comes from a dog, not a human. If you haven’t known the joys of owning a dog, you’re in for a real treat. My family always had a dog.

The first one I remember well was a beagle mix called Thumper and he was a hot mess. But we still loved him. That’s how it is with dogs. You forgive their nonsense because they forgive yours. It’s unconditional love in its purest form.

Dogs just exude joy. They’re wonderful companions and they can make almost every situation better. Next weekend, something very exciting is happening at the Franklin County Dog Shelter. Which is why if you’re considering getting a pup of your own, you need to listen up.

The shelter will be hosting “speed dating”. What does that mean exactly? On Saturday, June 29, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., you can head over to the shelter to meet their adoptable pups. The dogs will be stationed throughout the play yard with their matchmakers, hoping to find the perfect fit and their forever homes.

Adoptions fees will be waived and all dogs will be available for just the cost of their license, which is $18.

For more info about the program, or to take a preliminary glance at the dogs available for adoption, you can visit the Franklin County Dog Shelter website.

Here’s hoping you find your pawfect match!
