Flower Child Plans On Abandoning Its High Street Location For More Affordable Pastures

The classic fashion and furnishing store will soon call Italian Village its new home.

Flower Child Vintage, a clothing and furniture store specializing in mid-1900 regalia, has been a Short North staple on North High Street for over a decade. All that may change as the specialty store announced plans recently to move their shop over to East 5th Avenue.

The owner, Joe Valenti, plans on refurbishing an old hardware parts store at the address of 249 E. 5th, with hopes that its natural old-school look will be a perfect fit for the fashion store.

The rising price of rent in the Short North seems to be the contributing factor for Valenti’s decision to move. Though the new 5th Avenue location doesn’t seem to receive any heavy foot traffic, Flower Child’s owner is confident that all that may be changing for the area very soon.
