If there’s one thing I learned how to perfect in my early 20s it was boozing on a budget.
I don’t drink that often, but when I do, I have a few requirements. First of all, I enjoy being somewhere with a good atmosphere. Secondly, I want whatever I’m drinking to be delicious. Lastly, I want it all to be reasonably affordable. I know, I’m so demanding.
Luckily, with Flavvr, there’s a way I can check all three of those things off of my list. In case you haven’t heard, Flavvr is an app that every Columbus food and drink lover should have. By becoming a member, you get access to special deals, drink and menu items, as well as discounts. We’ve already talked about all of the places you can take the whole family while utilizing Flavvr, but now it’s time to ditch the kids – I mean call a babysitter – and go out for a drink or two.
Tried and true, a beer at Barley’s is a great way to end a long week or to enjoy some time out with friends. Barley’s also has a pretty rocking kitchen, so don’t worry, you won’t be drinking on an empty stomach.

If you’ve never had mead, now’s your chance. Brothers Drake has been churning out delicious mead for years now, but better late than never my friends. The meadery often has live music, so try a new cocktail and enjoy a local performer or two.

Noble Cut is one of those places around town that people like to keep a secret. I get it, but I just can’t keep quiet about how fantastic this distillery is for another minute. Now everyone can swing by the bottle shop and grab something yummy to take home. Craft your cocktails from the comfort of your pajamas… #winning.

Like Chumbawumba, I too like my lager drinks followed by cider drinks. That’s why Mad Moon is the place to be. Mad Moon uses local apples to craft their unique hard ciders and they’ll warm anyone up on a wintery day.

451 Spirits is a locally owned distillery offering tours, tastings, and bottle shop service. Get to know how the spirits are made and then take some home for yourself. What’s not to love?

I used to think that sour beer wasn’t for everyone. Then I tried Pretentious Barrel House. They offer a variety of sour beer, all of them perfectly balanced and none of them too overwhelming on the tastebuds. Plus, they have Skee Ball. Enough said.
