Green Lawn Abbey Is Hosting A Little Shop Of Horrors Sing-A-Long This Weekend

Looking for some spooky vibes this weekend?

There’s a Fall Fundraiser going down on Friday, October 2nd that may be right up your alley. Green Lawn Abbey, a historic mausoleum, is hosting an outdoor movie night to help raise money for making repairs to the abbey.

The abbey opened as one of the first public mausoleums back in 1929 and although it’s been through some rough patches, it’s currently under restoration. Typically, there are fundraising events held throughout the year to help bolster the repair budget, but with the pandemic, they’ve had to get a little creative.

For a $20 donation, you get a drink ticket, a tour of the Abbey, and a movie under the stars on the lawn of the abbey. Little Shop of Horrors will be playing on the screen and attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets. If you’re planning on attending you’ll need to be sure to bring your mask along and to practice physical distancing throughout the evening.

Not only will you be encouraged to sing-a-long, but you can also wear a costume if you’d like. There will be a costume contest and a 50/50 raffle. Throughout the night, you can purchase alcoholic beverages from Seventh Son Brewing, Heidelberg Distributing, and Tafts Brewing Company and all proceeds will go to the Abbey. If you get a little hungry while you’re hanging out, you can order some food from Pitabilities and Aloha Aina.

The event is 21+ only and you can get more info by visiting the Green Lawn Abbey website.
