This weekend, you can kick of your St. Patrick’s Day celebrations with a little fun in Dublin.

On Saturday, March 13th, the City of Dublin is hosting the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Of course, this will be a different sort of parade, in order to keep all participants and attendees safe. This year, the Greenest Grandest Parade will be a reverse parade held at Darree Fields from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

In a reverse parade, the parade participants are all stationary. Rather than crowding large groups together along the streets of Dublin, attendees will drive through the parade at Darree Fields, all while staying safe and snug in their vehicles.

The parade may be structured a little differently, but it will include all of your favorite St. Patrick’s Day spirit, with bagpipers, Irish dancers, floats, balloons, and other creative performances.

The parade begins at 11 a.m. and visitors are asked not to begin arriving before 10:45. Driving the parade route will be a little slow, so attendees are encouraged to bring snacks to enjoy in the car while they wait.

While enjoying the festivities, you’ll need to remain in your car at all times and there won’t be a bathroom available, so plan accordingly. The parade route is pictured above and attendees are encouraged to decorate their cars to get in on the St. Patrick’s Day fun.

The parade is free to attend and you can get more information about the festivities here.
